Belly of Fire publishing approached me to help them with publishing their tablet application for Android. We decided to look at the deployment using advanced SVG graphics compression utilised with a HTML5 wrapper. We started off with some early investigations as to how far we could get using Phonegaps system. We quickly found the limitations of Phonegaps hardware accelleration, so we turned to the Android and Chrome teams in Google London. The very helpful guys in there gave us some pointers away from Phonegap but we ended up having to create our own wrapper giving us maximum hardware acceleration and frame rate refresh.
